The electric went out at two this afternoon. It was pretty relaxing at first. Can’t do those dishes, floors will have to wait, and the laundry, too. So who cares, I thought, why not sit down to scribbling or a book. I could actually hear the clock ticking for once.
Then it got to be supper time, so we grilled for that. Not half bad really. Then it got to be evening and two days of dishes and a lived in house start to feel like something’s not quite right in my head. Especially since we have parties to attend tomorrow and won’t be back till Sunday night.
We sat at Amy and Tim’s campfire waiting for the electric to come back on so that we could get the dishes done tonight yet. I mean that’s me… Elv isn’t that hepped up about dishes, especially not late in the evening no matter what’s coming up.
Anyway, there’s the freezer to think about and the dog’s boundary collar and water. We have to somehow have water. We kept thinking about the off grid set up at the cabin that never lets us down about showers and lights and water.
Elv hurried off to L and M for certain wiring connections, quick before they closed at 8:30. He was in the process of hooking up the standby generator when the electricity came back on. You were right Amy. She had told us to go home and go to the bother of hooking up the generator because then the electric can come back on. Exactly.
So yay, the dishes are done. Elv helped me with them. And that’s amazing. He does not like to do dishes. He cooks, but he does not do clean-up. I’m good with that unless it’s ten o clock at night and two days worth staring at me.
Tomorrow morning, the kitchen will be sweet and beautiful, a perfect stage for Elv to make us a yummy breakfast. Even he will be glad.

What a cute microwave! I have never seen a yellow one. 💛 I don’t get out much! 😃I’m disappointed we won’t see you tomorrow after all.
