February Inspiration

When we got up up this morning the temps were dropping. At fifteen below by seven. Then the sun was coming up so it got a little warmer throughout the day. The next two days will be bitterly cold. All that to say that we have been keeping the stove fires going all day and all night. The fans, too. And the furnace downstairs. Which gets me to the heart of this post.

The dust and soot buildup has made our living room dingy. Coated and dull. So it wasn’t on plan to clean the room today but once I started, I couldn’t stop. No convenient place to feather it along any edges for more cleaning on another day. Every swipe of my rag picked up and left behind a noticeable trail. Curtains went into the washer. Every surface had to be attended. Carpet cleaned. That ridiculous elephant couch moved. No more blue haze on the windows.

I went to work to find shining floors, glittering windows, dust free, tidy surfaces and sweet smelling carpets and curtains. Who knew such a simple mess could be so inspiring. I have a feeling Elv might even notice.
