First Spring Wild Flowers

We took a walk this morning before church in the frosty fields. I spotted these miniature beauties covering the ground here by Mom’s house. Maybe you all have noticed and examined these amazing flowers many times already, but somehow I doubt it.

Here’s a small crocus to compare with which was hardly noticeable trying to bloom the hydrant.

As per Norman’s sermon this morning, every seemingly insignificant person with his small gift matters to God. Like this flower. I think six of these flower heads could barely cover my pinkie nail.

So I wonder, why does He bother? Nobody notices them. We strode heedlessly across the area right on top of them. Probably smashed a hundred of them. I only barely happened to notice… Had to look very closely indeed to see that there were flowers valiantly covering the ground. What is the Creator doing with them?

Is my little worship session all He’s after? Insignificant me and my faulty camera skills and a bitty window sill pot?

If one could keep this knowledge of God and His care of these almost invisible flowers, especially in our hurry to pursue big important things… Wouldn’t that be freeing?
