Mom brought in the first Johnny Jump Ups. This is the whole clump: soil, mulch, and all nestled into a crystal desert bowl. She says she still misses the Wisconsin woods flowers in the spring. This is her annual fix, apparently. Somehow it reminded me of the Girl of the Limberlost.

Elv invested in new binoculars the other day, so we took the opportunity to drive up the mountain to use them last night. I used my phone with the binoculars to get this sunset. Here we were on Baldy looking miles across the valley to the snowy peaks there.

Francis spotted these yellow beauties on the mountain side, so we stopped to collect them. We happened to have a gallon milk jar in the car so we created a terrarium on the spot.

These are ranunculus flowers… So says Google. You couldn’t prove it by me, but I’m game to go with that.

A string of fairy lights completed it. This morning the whole thing was perfection: wild ranunculus, the handful of soil and succulent, moss, and the white spring beauties. I’ve never arranged a terrarium before, but I think it’s delightful.
