Full Days

And time is running out on me. We’ve been going on drives up mountains till the snow stops us. Tonight it was up Black Mountain, where logging happens…I don’t see how. The road (think gravel logging road) is a winding ledge built into the mountain that lets us climb up. The views are awesome.

These two are building a privacy fence. So far I think I have stained 80? two by fours and I’m not done. But I can assure you that this fence is built to last.  Steel panels go in the spaces you see there. It’s going to be a nice enclosed back yard. Sierra is already planning a bridal shower for a friend there.

This bunch of beautiful ladies, sisters and in-law sisters, and I shopped Main Street in Sandpoint. Mostly we visited and browsed through stores full of a lot of things most of us do not need. But it’s fun to see some of the same products we carry at our little store in Hayward being presented another way in a different place.

I appreciate this art on my coffee drink. I made sure the artist knew it, too. I love that a simple coffee can be beautiful. Let’s spread it out and pass it on all day.

Brad sang with me today. I’m such a sappy mom, but I’m telling you he can sing. Never mind that I didn’t teach him to read music. My fault. What a waste. (Regrets are stupid, they get you nowhere.) The boy can sing, anyway. For which I am humbly grateful.

Oh, one more thing. After working on the fence all afternoon, Saturday, Sierra’s folks served us supper. Pizza and applesauce, cookies and ice cream at a huge, lovely table. Thanks, Lena and Steve. Honestly, I think the table measures 52 inches wide. But it was comfortably, simply set and plenty of room for flowers and pizza all at once. Perfect way to warm up from a cold, almost rainy afternoon among the two by fours.
