Winter reset

We thought it was springtime, sorta. Not quite real, of course, but the snow was going quickly and a few pictures of bulb greens were showing up on social media. Somebody claimed the first robin sighting. Honestly, I wasn’t ready. I wanted the snow to come back and cover up the messy lawn. There are sticks and whole branches scattered everywhere out there.

We got busy for a few days with life so that the house work looked undone. Then I was gone for two days and I left Elv with the struggle. He engaged and ran the dishwasher and filled the wood rack, ran some laundry and bought a few groceries. Which I really appreciated, because it meant that it wasn’t going to be completely impossible to restore our own familiar level of home sanity.

While I was gone the dog got in a fight with a couple of dogs even bigger than he is. Elv is still shaking his head. Too bad we don’t have the courage and innocence of a two year old golden retriever. It is always good to remember that prudence is the better part of valor. Perhaps Kjelgaard knows that by now.

Anyway, in March when dried mud adds up on the entry rug; it’s time to vacuum. And when the bare ground is messy and ugly; it’s time for a new layer of snow. Six inches is just about right. And the dining room table needs to be cleared and prettied. Sunshine and housework and a meal plan.

Just a simple reset of new snow and housework. I love it.
