Wow, it's been a week. Mom entertained us with vocabulary quizzes for awhile this evening. After that dad brought out the Rumicube game to play. I give you all goodnight and have a happy Sunday tomorrow.
Idaho Days
We're headed up the mountain this evening to see if we can find Francis's trail cam that someone has apparently relocated. We had pizza at the shop at the end of a busy day of working on the Mountaineer. We just dropped everything and ran. This little hen lives at Josh's. She and a few… Continue reading Idaho Days
Day Three
We climbed up over the hill and reached Bonners Ferry by the early afternoon. Elv drove the whole way. All 1400 miles. Glacier Park is glorious in beauty and measure. Arriving at Mom and Dad's and having the two of them to ourselves for a couple hours was just right. And then hugging our little… Continue reading Day Three
Day Two
Along Rt 2 also known as the Great Northern Road Trip. Here's an article. We traveled most of the way through the plains part of it today. We started the day watching the sky. Apparently we drove under the fly way. Huge flocks of geese. This guy seemed to be out wandering around. He had… Continue reading Day Two
First Day
Of traveling west to Idaho. Northern Minnesota is old, somehow. Old barns, silos, low sheds with faded tin, and trailer houses. Someone thought it was a good idea to pull in a trailer house beside the old farmhouse and move over. Now the old house stands straight and true, admittedly windowless, but the mobile home… Continue reading First Day
Living a Beautiful Life
And not vicariously, through Instagram or the likes of that imposter of one's own zest and very wits. The lowliest room at our house has a cactus blooming in the window sill for the second time since last late fall. I'm far more gratified with this than if I saw someone else's whole conservatory on… Continue reading Living a Beautiful Life
February Inspiration
When we got up up this morning the temps were dropping. At fifteen below by seven. Then the sun was coming up so it got a little warmer throughout the day. The next two days will be bitterly cold. All that to say that we have been keeping the stove fires going all day and… Continue reading February Inspiration
February Lift
This is for my girls. It's midwinter. The days are lengthening, the cold strengthening... It's been "twenty below" each morning. By evening we're chilled and the stove fires are important. Snow fell straight down all the afternoon today. I've been finding little ways to give myself a boost. Yesterday I sorted and organized my desk… Continue reading February Lift
January Is Gone
January is done and gone. And I'm glad about it. Glad to have "Atlanta" behind me even though it was worthy, exciting work to shop the big market for the store where I work. I am not going to try to describe the place. Just imagine your favorite interior decor/household goods/gift and furniture store on… Continue reading January Is Gone
Take Away of Last Week
I know nothing about politics. So when I make observations from my own little corner of the world, don't try to pin me to any particular stance or party. Mostly, I am still impressionable and hopeful. And I like happy endings to great stories. I'm referring To Jimmy Carter's funeral last week. I really enjoyed… Continue reading Take Away of Last Week
