Home Is Where You Hang Your Hat Part Two

September 3, 2011August 1, 2018 Arla

Top of the china cabinet redo.  I had time to clean at home in TheStoneHouse today.  Besides playing around with this, I tried Amy's Pizza Sauce and now there are 13 cute little pint jars of beautiful sauce. (Pint jars are so amazingly tiny and quaint, after quarts and half gallons jars for years of… Continue reading Home Is Where You Hang Your Hat Part Two

Home Is Where You Hang Your Hat

September 3, 2011August 1, 2018 Arla

Elv and Frances are enjoying renovating The Beast (one little ole Sidekick). A pot of glorious mums from my friend Susan.  It's perfect for the front door at Heartwood.  Frances and I have decided to bring it in for winter and coax it. The flowers in our garden are beautiful this year. We… Continue reading Home Is Where You Hang Your Hat

Computer Woes Beset Me

August 27, 2011August 1, 2018 Arla

It is not fun at all.  All my old familiar pages are gone.  Oh, the computer comes up just fine, but the "local profile" seems to be unable to load.  Which means that my desktop is all slick and clean and sterile. The picture of Jube and Hava are missing from the background. My pictures… Continue reading Computer Woes Beset Me

August 26, 2011August 1, 2018 Arla

More Glimpses of Logging and Living Near Heartwood

August 10, 2011August 1, 2018 Arla

This wasteland was forest before the big storm.  Next spring there will be aspen regrowth as high as your head here. Many years from now there will again be the beautiful hardwoods but not before the aspen has its day. The Wild River is brimful these days.

This post is for my mom mostly, but the rest of you can read it, too if you like.  I'm just catching her up on our life, again.     First of all, we have to show you how Mondays work right now.  Elv gets up and leaves the house at five or so… Continue reading The Week in a Posting

Logging At Heartwood

August 2, 2011August 1, 2018 Arla

We are on our fifth week of logging over by Minong where the the wind took down acres of trees last month. Loggers from all around are working here to harvest and salvage the downed timber. Two of us families from church are living over here during the week right near the job. Our family… Continue reading Logging At Heartwood

Logging In The Blow-Down

Northwoods Entertainment

July 28, 2011August 1, 2018 Arla

We found this guy at the Heartwood House where we will be spending the greater part of our weeks for the next few months.  He provided us with some chuckles when we discovered he could be such a ham.  Ah! nothing like a reason to smile while getting used to a different home.
