Autumn

Evening Post

What a nice day this was. No particular reason. It was great to get up when I woke up. After giving the day to Jesus and thanking him for all the things, that is. Just before daylight the blue jays, who were apparently roosting right here by the patio, began visiting with each other using various of their calls. I guess I got up with the blue jays this morning. I recommend it.

The weather is amazing for September: no frost, leaves changing, and plenty warm. I gave the patio plants a shot of fish emulsion and plenty of water this evening. Why not give them what they’ll need for a few more weeks of show!

Suddenly, all the rest of the Atlanta orders have finally arrived. It’s a pity that Koopmans didn’t come in July when it was supposed to. So if any of you need a cutting board,  serving boards, or battery candles, you’re in luck. Oh, and baskets. We have gift baskets in several sizes. So Jolynn and I are getting those all out there for you.

I’m loving fall this year. Maybe it’s the weather, but it’s more than the weather. Here’s a few more reasons likely.

  • There’s a ladies retreat coming up and I’m not one of the speakers. Praying for those who are, though. I learned a thing or two about needing prayer for this kind of work.
  • Getting together with my sisters in Evie’s part of Wyoming.
  • There’s firewood to work up.
  • And campfires to attend.
  • Sweater weather coming up.
  • We’re studying in Habakkuk instead of Daniel for Sunday school. The Lord is in His holy temple, let the whole earth be silent in his presence, is preceded by amazingly accurate word pictures of our crazy world. And Mr. Habakkuk doesn’t mind at all having discussion with God about the chaos. He waits for God to answer his questions expectantly and accepts what he hears as assurance that God is on it, even though He is planning to use those wild Chaldeans.
