Everybody headed north after church lunch to Cheney Lake. Elv and I got there first around three o’clock finding the beach completely ours for the day.

Instead of counting little heads near the shore all day, like we used to; we are watching big children playing and swimming off the old row boat out near the middle of the lake.

The only way to get that rig on the water is to carry it from the trailer to the water. Not a problem. It was well worth it.

The most perfect summer day possible. Yes, Nebraska and Idaho kids, you were missed.

Tailgate brats and regular picnic feasting coming up.

Benny found the turtle shell in one of his walks around the lake. Dawson adopted it for his collection. I assured his mom that it could be cleaned dried and shellacked to be kept. She wasn’t enthused about this for some reason. No matter, we really don’t need yucky collections to remember this fun day.

Again we stayed till the Whippoorwills sang. Father’s Day 2026.
