Fall color has again taken over everything. Specifically, there are leaves of gold, crimson, red and orange covering the lawns and lanes and patio at our house. It literally changes the light. I suggested to Elv that maybe it’s God’s way of letting us down easy about the darkening evenings.

I feel a pleasant, poignant sadness watching summer disappear almost overnight. I think it’s also a feeling that comes with so much beauty on hand everywhere. It’s surreal. And can’t last. If it did stay this beautiful, this way, the luster wouldn’t mean as much by and by, I think.

For once everyone loves the weather with smiles and gratitude. Every little corner is lovely. I am honestly surprised that the added texture isn’t stressful. What a gracious gift.
